Synopsis[]

Riley tries to avoid a handsome new kid at school, while denying that she has a crush on him; Jacobo's interest in a role-playing game puts a strain on his friendship with Todd.

Plot[]

Act I[]

The Daring siblings ride to school in their father's motorcycle. Riley gets splashed with mud on their way there. When they arrive, Riley staggers out of the sidecar and into the arms of a new kid at school. Riley, still completely covered in mud, runs over to Todd and asks him how she looks. Todd lies to Riley, saying that she never looked better. The new kid introduces himself as Kamil Sattar, who recently moved to Pleasant Hills from Bangladesh. Riley is infatuated with Kamil until he makes fun of Riley for being covered with mud. Riley walks away infuriated. Todd takes his helmet off, revealing that he now has a mohawk. He announces that he and Jacobo had gotten mohawks to demonstrate that they are the "most original" kids in school.

Riley now considers Kamil her rival. To her dismay, Kamil joins Riley in band class, and he replaces Riley's role as second fiddle. Kamil jokes that Riley can be second fiddle in other areas, which increases Riley's hatred for him. Meanwhile, Todd struts down the hallway showing off his new mohawk. He overhears Jacobo in the Crypts & Creatures Smite Club. When he walks in, he sees a bunch of geeks in costumes led by Janitor Garth. Jacobo forgot to cut his hair for Todd, as he has gotten into the Crypts & Creatures role-playing game. He agrees to cut his hair after he finishes his game.

By lunchtime, Riley is annoyed by Kamil's popularity, especially because Kamil was rude to her. By coincidence, the two end up sitting at the same table. Kamil announces he will have a potluck party at his house. Riley declares that she is not going. To her frustration, Kamil charms Riley's friends into going to his party.

Inside the Crypts & Creatures Club.

Todd tries to drag Jacobo out of the Crypts & Creatures club. To Todd's disbelief, Jacobo is having fun playing the game. Todd is concerned about his popularity in school, which would be jeopardized if Jacobo hangs out with geeks. Jacobo declares that a real friend would not care if he hangs out with Crypts & Creatures players. With that, Todd decides to end his friendship with Jacobo.

Later that day, Riley joins the debate club. There is one slot left. Riley thought she was the last person to apply for the club, but Shelton announces that someone else applied as well. The other person turns out to be Kamil.

Act II[]

While walking home from school, Riley complains to her friends that Kamil follows her everywhere. Tasumi explains that boys sometimes make jokes when they are nervous. Seeing an opportunity to strengthen her debate skills, Riley decides to make amends with Kamil at his party.

Todd calls Fleemco to replace Garth with a competitive Crypts & Creatures player. He wants Jacobo to lose to a professional player so Jacobo can go back to hanging out with him. Garth goes to Milwaukee to preside over a renaissance fair, while Fleemco finds a man who lives in his mother's basement.

S2E24 Riley in pond and cake on Kamils head

Aftermath of Kamil's potluck party.

Riley realizes that none of Agent K's dishes are appetizing, so she brings a store-bought cake to Kamil's potluck party. At the party, Buzz delivers some gossip he found about Kamil. According to Buzz, Kamil thinks Riley has been "acting like a total freak." Then, Riley overhears Kamil and Johnny having a conversation about the baseball team. When Riley hears Kamil say that he wants to be a pitcher because Riley is also a pitcher, she decides to step in. Convinced that Kamil is stalking her, Riley announces that she will "chew [Kamil] up" like the green bean on his plate. She does not realize it is a hot pepper until it is too late. She dashes over to the punch bowl, and when that doesn't work, she dips her head into a pond. During the commotion, Riley's cake lands on Kamil's head.

Agent K talks with Riley about Kamil. Riley is irritated because Kamil shows up everywhere she goes. Agent K notices that Riley has a lot in common with Kamil. Despite spending a lot of time and energy on Kamil, Riley insists that she will never be interested in him.

Jacobo's new dungeonmaster is much tougher than Garth. Jacobo loses, but he still refuses to give up. Jacobo plays Crypts & Creatures for the love of the game. The new dungeonmaster kicks Todd out of the room for being a "nonbeliever."

Act III[]

That night, Todd has a nightmare where a monster slowly drags Jacobo into a volcano while Todd relaxes nearby. After Jacobo gets eaten, Todd realizes that he did not save his best friend. To make matters worse, Shelton becomes his new best friend.

At school, it is decided that Riley and Kamil will debate together. The debate is about whether cake or candy is the better sugar. Their answer devolves into an argument which ends with Riley shouting at Kamil to leave her alone. Riley runs off the stage and Kamil follows her. Since they went over the allotted time, their opponent wins by default.

To save his friendship with Jacobo, Todd joins a Crypts & Creatures game. The dungeonmaster inserts himself into the game as a green monster who throws slime at Todd and Jacobo. Todd repels the slime with fairy dust. The dungeonmaster sends slugs to attack Todd and Jacobo, but Jacobo repels the slugs with an operatic high note. Todd then rolls double skulls, which means that he is forced to become the dungeonmaster's slave. When Jacobo sees the other club members bowing down to the dungeonmaster, he realizes Todd was right. Jacobo quits the club and becomes friends with Todd again.
